Differentiating vaginal discharges is essential to guide the diagnosis and appropriate management of various gynecological conditions. While some discharges are physiological and vary according to the menstrual cycle, others may indicate infections or pathological changes, such as bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Recognizing these differences allows early interventions, preventing complications and promoting the patient’s intimate health.
The simulation of vaginal discharges is performed using materials that reproduce textures, colors, and viscosities characteristic of different clinical conditions. These simulations allow students to identify changes such as the whitish and lumpy appearance of candidiasis or the fluid discharge with a characteristic odor of bacterial vaginosis, training diagnostic recognition skills.
